The Battle of Marathon
The Battle of Thermopylae
The Battle of Salamis
One word that describes the Greek wins
The word that I have chosen to illustrate why the Greeks defeated the Persians is strategy. I chose this word because the Greeks used very smart strategies in each battle. For example, in the Battle of Marathon, Miltiades had the weak warriors in the center and strong along the edges so they could protect the weak and attack the Persians. In the Battle of Thermopylae, the Spartans were hiding and waiting in place that the Persians could not reach nor find so they were never attacked, sadly, this did not go as planned. Also, the Spartans had very well trained, strong warriors. In the Battle of Salamis, the Greeks told the Persians that they were leaving and backing down, when really, they were waiting to ambush them and attack. In all three battles, great strategies were used and led them to victory in majority of the battles.
